Yes, the City has a cooperative agreement with ICE and helps to identify undocumented immigrants at traffic stops or other encounters with the police. The City was afraid of being accused of being an anti-Trump “sanctuary city” so we became the first city of Miami-Dade county to sign a 287(g) program agreement. Conditions include accepting ICE detainer, effort to cooperate with ICE and to prohibit “santurary” policies.

In short the hands of the police of the City of Coral Gables have their hands tied to ICE. No we now that the immigation policies of the Trump are a lie when it was stated that they arrested undocumented people with serious police records.
